Construction Worker Accidentally shoots himself in the head with Nail Gun

A typical day on the job turned into a nightmare for a construction worker who accidentally shot himself in the head with a nail gun. Jeff Luptak says he believed he was going to die in the basement of a Bismarck home, he was building. Last Wednesday, he hit the trigger of that gun and the three inch nail lodged in his head. Luptak was flown to a St. Paul hospital with that nail still inside his head to keep blood inside his brain, where doctors removed it and repaired a vein.

Jeff Luptak – Construction Worker: "All I could think about was my wife, and kids, what they were going to do."

Kim Luptak – Jeff’s Wife: “He started crying and said Kim, I just got shot in the head with a nail gun."

Luptak will have weakness in his left leg but doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
