Special Olympics Basketball Tournament in East Grand Forks

East Grand Forks, MN (WDAY TV) - Some special athletes had a chance to show off their talents at a basketball tournament in East Grand Forks.

Some special athletes had a chance to show off their talents at a basketball tournament in East Grand Forks. Players ages 8 to 60 took the court in East at the Special Olympics tourney. Cheerleaders even rooted on the teams. Organizers say games like this are a great way for these athletes to feel comfortable running off energy and meeting new friends; more important than winning.

Pat Anderson – Special Olympics Volunteer: "Special Olympics is working with people with intellectual disabilities giving them a chance to get some exercise have fun in a safe environment with their friends and colleagues."
