The money has been counted and it's another record for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign.

The Salvation Army blew away its goal of $810,000 over the holidays. It made the announcement at a press conference this morning. More than 5,000 volunteers helped ring the bells this year. Captain Bill Mealy says all that money will be used to help people in our area with food, emergency services and other needs.

Captain Bill Mealy – Salvation Army: “We have never been disappointed. Every time we set a goal or reach out to the community for a need that we have, this community doesn't let us down.”

The Red Kettle Campaign accounts for 65% of the Salvation Army's annual budget.
