ND Cowboy Hall of Fame makes debt payment

MEDORA, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame has paid last year's overdue construction bond payment, making the extended deadline of Jan. 31.

President Phil Baird says the Hall made the payment thanks to donations from members, trustees and "a few donor angels." The hall paid $105,000 toward its construction debt of $1.2 million. The debt is being paid off over 17 years.

The Hall says the poor national economy, flooding around the state and a drop in tourism last year put a financial strain on the organization.

The Hall in Medora preserves the state's cowboy, ranch and cultural history.
