Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- The top bowlers in the region congregated at Liberty Lanes in East Grand Forks today for the final rounds of the WDAY-WDAZ Bowling Classic. The finals will be broadcast at 11:05 tonight, right here on WDAY and WDAZ.

That's your warning, because here come the highlights. We start with the semifinal,

Steve Berry Junior of Grand Forks facing 20-year old Dillon Meyer of Fargo, Berry delivered a turkey and led by 10 in the 7th frame, but eventually fell to Meyer, 212-203.

So, it was 2-seed Meyer against this man, top-seed Mike Larson of Moorhead.

Larson hit 2 strikes in the first 3 frames, and led 59-48.

But, Dillon Meyer a sophomore at NDSU studying Pharmacy bowls 3 strikes in the final four frames to win it, 194-178. He takes the title and earns the 2-thousand dollar paycheck.

Dillion Meyer says, "It was a long weekend. Yesterday was a struggle. I had two really good games and that's the reason I got to bowl today. Today, you just kind of grind it out and go with it. And I got lucky. I would have never guessed starting Saturday morning that this would have happened, but it's pretty crazy."

Meyer says he'll use the money to help pay for school. Good choice.
