The National Weather Service says the risk of flooding in the Missouri River and James River basins in North Dakota right now is near normal.

Meteorologists say there's modest snowpack in the countryside because of the warm and dry early winter, though forecasters say enough snow and rain is likely to create at least some risk of spring flooding.
