Supreme Court changes the way police use GPS
Washington, DC (WDAY TV) - The Supreme Court is changing the way police are tracking criminals.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
The Supreme Court is changing the way police are tracking criminals. The high court has ruled police need a search warrant if they want to use GPS to track suspects.
A Washington night club owner had his life sentence overturned, when police didn't get a search warrant to install a GPS device on his vehicle to track his movement. The GPS device helped locate a house used to stash drugs and money. Both an appeals court and the Supreme Court overturned the conviction.
