Fergus Falls, MN (WDAY TV) -- A group of Fergus Falls businesses has a big goal to help the homeless.

Nelson Auto Center is teaming with six businesses to collect one ton of food for the local food shelf. 14 hundred pounds has been collected. For every pound, the businesses will donate 10 cents. If they reach the goal, they'll donate two thousand dollars.

Nelson Auto Center owner, Laurel Nelson, says, "both the businesses and the people in Fergus Falls are very generous and when they heard about what we were doing, we have had people come in and say you know what I am not interested in buying a car today, but I just wanted to bring you some food, and we have had about 150 dollars in checks just coming in to."

You can drop off donations at Nelson Auto tomorrow, the last day of that drive.
