FARGO – A tip from a pawn shop clerk led police here to arrest a Fargo man in connection with a theft of $7,000 worth of tools.
Fargo Police Lt. Joel Vettel said police received a report on Dec. 22 of a burglary in the 300 block of 36th Street South. An individual broke into a trailer and stole tools used for flooring, valued at $7,000, Vettel said.
A clerk at a local pawn shop contacted police after a man brought the stolen tools in the store, Vettel said.
Police arrested Brandon Todd Bailey, 27, on suspicion of theft of property, a class C felony.
Police and local pawn shops work together frequently, and this case is a prime example of how that relationship can help solve property crimes, Vettel said.
