(WDAY TV) - A Staples, Minnesota man is facing charges in Richland County, accused of defrauding people out of more than $7-thousand dollars.
30-year-old Jeffery Lorber was posing as a construction contractor and had a proposal to re-roof the First English Lutheran Church in Fairmount for $88-hundred dollars.
The church paid $44-hundred down to Lorber in May of 2010, but no work was ever started. Lorber also took more than $26-hundred dollars from a Wahpeton man and never worked on his roof either.
He's charged with property theft and not possessing a contractor's license.
