MATBus seeing record riders

MATBus ridership is reaching new records. The bus system gave more than 2.2 million rides last year. Since 2010, there's been an increase of more than 100,000 rides. Ridership is up 85% from just six years ago. Routes were added in both Fargo and Moorhead to keep up with demand.

Lori Van Beek – Moorhead Transit Manager: "I think people are looking at their money and saying, you know I think it is more affordable to take the bus and it can get me where I am going, so why not take it? It’s an environmental choice for people as well."

Recently, rates rose to a $1.50 per ride, or $40 a month for unlimited rides.
