Grand Forks, ND (WDAZ TV) - It was one of the biggest games of the year as the Bison traveled to the Ralph to play UND.
Bryce Frydenlund - UND Fan: "Oh its big, big game for both teams actually and last year they played in Fargo which was huge, and NDSU won but I think UND has something to prove this year."
Proving they're the same team without the "Fighting Sioux" logo and nickname. Even Bison fans say 80 years of history can't change over a team name.
Michael Burns - NDSU fan: "I really don't think though, the changing of the name is going to make a big difference in a university with such strong traditions as UND has."
Nathan Zelinski - UND fan: "I think they should play for it (nickname & logo) and it should be a pretty intense game."
Tradition and school pride is what keeps these fans cheering for the Sioux.
Steve & Cade - UND students: "Important for the tradition of North Dakota, I think the biggest rivalry in the state is the Bison its just kind of re-igniting the rivalry as you can see a lot of people are coming up here, it makes it exciting as students to come to a game again."
Students say they're pumped for the game, but a little nervous, stakes are high for bragging rights.
Burns: "I'm expecting NDSU to blow them out of the water."
Billy Korol: "There's really only one school in North Dakota that counts and that's UND."
Zelinski: "We've got friends from Fargo that are coming so its going to be quite an intense game, we're going to be sitting right next to each other and kind of cheering against each other."
