Conrad honors Bison Championship Team

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A North Dakota leader is trying to get the Bison even more recognition for their first Division 1 National Championship.

    Senator Kent Conrad presented football coaches, players, and staff with a senate resolution he wrote congratulating the team on their big FCS win.

A North Dakota leader is trying to get the Bison even more recognition for their first Division 1 National Championship. Senator Kent Conrad presented football coaches, players, and staff with a senate resolution he wrote congratulating the team on their big FCS win.

Conrad also gave NDSU President Dean Bresciani a "Yes We Can Award,” and presented Athletic Director Gene Taylor a flag flown at the nation's capital on the day the Bison won. Conrad says he's proud of the way the team represented the school, and the state.

Senator Kent Conrad – (D) North Dakota: "We've got more NDSU fans in the seats then there are anybody else's. When we are only 200 miles from their campus, I think that says a lot about Bison pride.

Conrad's also asking the President to invite the team to the White House.
