Fewer fish houses on the ice in Minnesota
Minnesota (WDAY TV) - The talk across the state of Minnesota is what people are not seeing as they pass lakes; fish houses.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
The talk across the state of Minnesota is what people are not seeing as they pass lakes; fish houses. Since 1977 the DNR has spent the first 2 weeks of January counting the houses on lakes. This year officials say south-central Minnesota has the fewest houses on lakes in that time period. That area usually has an average of 734, this year the number is 111. Officials say the unseasonably warm temps are most likely the reason for the slump.
