Two Fargo hockey teams take the ice by sleds

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Two hockey teams in Fargo take to the ice not by skates, but sleds.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Two hockey teams in Fargo take to the ice not by skates, but sleds.

The Hope Hurricanes Sled Hockey Team took on The Angels. It's a team made up of players with disabilities. Most of the children are in a wheelchair and some push themselves on ice, but others need help. Playing another team is a great way to get involved in the community.

Bill Grommesh, the Hope Hurricanes head coach, says, "a lot of times kids that are in chairs, don't really get the competitive sports that other kids get and it adds a whole new element playing a different team, it is very exciting for them."

The Hope Hurricanes won, 8 to 2.
