Twenty eight high school basketball players sent to hospital after bus crash

New England, ND (WDAY TV) - A bus crash on icy roads in southwestern North Dakota sent 28 high school basketball players to the hospital.

A bus crash on icy roads in southwestern North Dakota sent 28 high school basketball players to the hospital. The Hettinger-Scranton boys’ basketball team's bus was on its way to play Dickinson Trinity when the rollover happened near New England. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening.

The coach says the driver hit a patch of ice while going around a curve, and went into the ditch, where the driver then tried to slow down the bus by steering it toward an open field. It hit an incline, launched into the air and the bus flipped onto the driver’s side. The game has been postponed to a later date.
