Press Release - The Cass County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest resulting from two Cass County rural Mapleton burglaries, and one attempted burglary. These burglaries occurred January 3rd and January 4th during daytime hours.

Items stolen were cash, jewelry, and electronics. Thomas James McCrackin, 18, has been charged with two counts of burglary and one count of reckless endangerment. All three charges are class C felonies.

The reckless endangerment stems from the discharge of a .22 caliber firearm on January 4th at the site of the attempted burglary where the bullet went through the door of the residence as McCrackin was surprised by the victim in the home. There were no injuries as a result of the discharge from the firearm.

Also, there was no confrontation between the victim and suspect. McCrackin's last known address is 1321 7th Ave. S #3 Fargo. McCrackin made an initial appearance today and bond was set at $10,000 cash only. This case is still under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff's Office.
