Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A group of doulas is planning to meet expectant parents to teach them about pregnancy and giving birth in a unique way. At least here, compared to larger metro areas.

These doulas are starting this free, monthly meeting in Fargo. There are about eight active doulas in our area. They don't do anything medical-related.

Doulas help parents decide how and where they want to deliver their child, often naturally. Parents learn about labor, comfort measures, and picking a practitioner or mid-wife.

JANELLE BRANDON – Doula: “This is one of the most memorable moments in an expectant's families life. The birth of a child and we just want to make sure that they look back on that memory and it is a beautiful one.”

The meetings are at Nichole's Fine Pastry in Fargo, every 2nd Thursday of each month through May at 7 p-m.
