Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - The bookkeeper for the ELCA's Northwestern Minnesota Synod, based in Moorhead, could be facing charges for embezzlement.
The synod's executive committee terminated Robert Larson last week after he allegedly confessed to financial misconduct. Larson's been the bookkeeper since 2004.
It's not clear how much money he took, but the synod has hired Eide Bailly to do an audit of financial records over the last seven years. Larson has been reported to the Moorhead Police Department and criminal charges could be filed soon.
