AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) — A 40-year-old Austin woman is accused of driving drunk to pick up her son from school.
Police arrested the woman Wednesday after getting a tip that she was on her way to pick up her son from school while intoxicated.
Police Chief Brian Krueger tells the Austin Daily Herald (http://bit.ly/y751qu) officers found the woman walking out of Woodson Elementary School and toward a car with her son around 2:30 p.m.
An officer spoke with the woman, and she denied being intoxicated. Krueger says the woman failed field sobriety tests, and her preliminary breath test indicated her blood alcohol content was more than the legal limit.
Police arrested the woman before she drove with her son in the car. Krueger says she likely will be charged with third-degree DWI.
