Bison football player spends time with elementary students
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The Bison football team is the talk of the town this week, but today, one player got an unexpected reception from an unlikely source.
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The Bison football team is the talk of the town this week, but today, one player got an unexpected reception from an unlikely source.
As Part of the Big Brother Big Sister program, Billy Turner spends time with a 4th grader at Madison Elementary.
Turner is an offensive tackle on the National Champion Bison football team. He said he was definitely surprised by the welcome.
Turner says, β It's been fun, I've been coming up here every week, Mike and I usually go out and play football. The excitement that the kids have every time I come and play football is really unbelievable.β
Michael Sokrir, a 4th grader at Madison Elementary, says, βIt's really fun, he teaches me about football sometimes and he helps me with all the things I need him to help me with.β
Mike says he wants to go to school and be a Bison football player just like Billy when he gets older.
