Golfers continue to tee off this January

Fergus Falls, Minn. (WDAY TV) - We're enjoying our third 50-degree day in January. I said January. So it's probably fair to say that more golf has been played in the area this winter than any other time in the past. Yes, we said golf.

Fergus Falls, Minn. (WDAY TV) - We're enjoying our third 50-degree day in January. I said January. So it's probably fair to say that more golf has been played in the area this winter than any other time in the past. Yes, we said golf.

With ice houses on the lake beside the course, dozens of golfer teed off at Pebble Lake in Fergus Falls. There was actually a line at noon waiting to get on the course.

The course opened today because they got so many calls from the public asking them to open. With all the warm weather, some golfers are making the rounds of the various courses that have opened.

JON JOHNSON - Winter Golfer: “Actually on Sunday some friends of ours golfed in a scramble in Leonard, North Dakota. No I think the latest we ever golfed was in November the first week in November but that's about it.”

Greens fees from today will be put towards a capital improvement fund for the course. The golf course in Leonard was also open, but for the last time. We think.
