Bike rider collides with car in Moorhead

Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - With the warmer weather and no snow people are still out riding bikes, and today one rider collided with a car in Moorhead.

Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - With the warmer weather and no snow people are still out riding bikes, and today one rider collided with a car in Moorhead.

It happened on first avenue north and 14th Street. The driver was making a right turn when the bike struck the vehicle on the passenger side.

The rider refused medical attention and was not hurt. With people sill riding bikes, police say both drivers and riders need to continue to be cautious of one another.

SGT. TOBY KRONE - Moorhead Police: “Bike riding in the sidewalks, this is not uncommon at intersections, you know bicyclist need to be aware when they are driving on the wrong side of the road. They are driving on the sidewalk and they are coming to an intersection, a lot of times vehicles are only looking to their left attempting to make a right turn on red.”

The driver was not cited.
