JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — Jamestown College has named defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator Shawn Frank as the Jimmies' new head football coach.

Jamestown College President Robert S. Badal and Athletics Director Lawrie Paulson made the announcement Monday. Frank takes over for Bud Etzoid, who resigned after serving as head coach from 2008 to 2011 and previously from 1995 to 1999.

Prior to joining the Jimmie staff in 2003, Frank spent 10 years coaching high school football in his hometown of Hettinger, N.D.

Since joining Jamestown College, Frank has coached 10 All-Conference players and two AFCA first team All-Americans.

In a news release, Frank says he is excited for the opportunity to coach the team. He says recruiting will be a priority.
