9th ranked Spuds host Minnetonka

Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY Sports) - There's a premier hockey matchup tonight East of the Red River as 9th ranked Moorhead hosts 3rd ranked Minnetonka.

The Spuds are 3-1 this season when facing teams that are currently ranked in Class AA, but the next two days, they'll meet number 3 and number 1 when they visit Duluth East Saturday. So far the tough competition has been used as a teaching tool.

DAVE MORINVILLE - Moorhead Head Coach: “I think the biggest thing we find out is what we have to get better at. We do a lot of video and see things. You know, this guy broke down here, it's something we gotta practice and getter better at and make our whole team better. We learned some things this past week, worked on some things at practice and hopefully they'll carry over.”
