ND man sentenced to 23 months on firearms charge

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man has been sentenced to nearly two years in prison on a federal firearms charge.

Shobie Shaw, of Fort Totten, pleaded guilty in October to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Authorities say he had a .22-caliber rifle.

Shaw was convicted in 1999 of felony destruction of property. Federal firearms statues prohibit convicted felons from possessing firearms.
