ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — For the second time in less than a week, a St. Paul police officer has fired his weapon when a suspect brandished a gun.
The latest incident happened Wednesday afternoon. Police were checking out information that some people might have a weapon when they encountered the group. A suspect was seen with a gun and refused demands to drop the weapon.
Police say the officer fired one round from his service weapon. The suspect ran and was arrested after a foot chase. None of the suspects was struck.
Two St. Paul men — a 23-year-old and a 25-year-old — are in custody. The officer was placed on standard three-day administrative leave.
In an incident Saturday, an officer fired his weapon when a suspect pulled a gun. No one was hurt.
