After more than two weeks of relaxation and preparation, the Bison football team finally arrived in Frisco, Texas today, for the FCS championship game slated for Saturday.
Welcome to Frisco everyone site of the FCS championship game. The Bison arrived in town today to Texas hospitality and found out that the setting and the game will be unlike any other they've played.
Brock Jenson – NDSU Sophomore Quarterback: “It was awesome. You could hear our band playing on the bus speaker and it feels good to finally be in Texas.”
Does it feel like a bowl game atmosphere, National Championship atmosphere?
Brock Jenson: “Yeah, kind of does. Definitely feels that way, excited to be down, we're looking forward to it.”
Craig Bohl – NDSU Head Coach: “I think everything's staged, Dom, for this to be a great experience for our players. It's really a championship feel, we knew that on our pre-flight down here. Our players are excited about the game. What we got to come back to, beyond all the hoopla, the bands and all else. It’s going to come down to playing the game on the gridiron.”
How much will you stress that tonight?
Craig Bohl: “We've got a mature group and we addressed that on Sunday and as the game draws close, there's a bunch of activities and you got to recognize that you got to keep coming back to the game and that experience will be important to you.”
The Bison held their first practice this afternoon. It was closed to the public, but Craig Bohl told me most of the game plan installation has already been done. Sam Houston state arrives tonight.
