FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A man accused of fleeing a prison transport van in North Dakota and sparking a manhunt has pleaded guilty to a felony escape charge.

The Forum newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/wERfwy ) that Joseph Megna was sentenced Wednesday to the three months in jail he's already served.

California-based Extradition Transport of America was moving Megna from Florida to Washington state in early October when he escaped at a rest stop along Interstate 94 in southeast North Dakota. Authorities flushed the 30-year-old convicted sex offender from a cornfield after a 22-hour search.

In his court appearance Wednesday, he said he escaped from the van because he had not been fed properly in the trip from Florida.

He will again be extradited to Washington, where he faces a charge of child molestation.
