A 21 year drought ends for NDSU on Saturday when the Bison re-appear in a national championship game. Plenty has changed since. NDSU plays indoors now and has moved up divisions.

The 1990 championship was the last title in Division 2 for the Bison, a 51-11 rout over Indiana of Pennsylvania where Chris Simdorn, the top player in Division 2 that year, racked up 5 touchdowns. The NDSU defense racked up 10 sacks that day. I asked 1983 team captain Dave Piepkorn about being a part of a team that plays for the title.
