The Richland County Sheriff's Office is saying goodbye to one of its own. Jerry Manske began working as a deputy 28 years ago. Before that he worked four and a half years in Sargent County. For the past 5 years, he has been in charge of warrants and the transportation of prisoners.

About 20 years ago, Manske was diagnosed with cancer. The disease hasn't come back, but he's now dealing with the effects of radiation-which has forced him to retire earlier than he wanted.

Jerry Manske – Retiring Richland County Deputy: “I enjoyed my work. I enjoyed coming to work. It will be tough, yes, it will be.”

This was Manske's last day as a Richland County Sheriff's Deputy.
