DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota officials say the lack of snow so far this winter is saving communities a lot of money in plowing costs.
Dickinson street manager Ed Krank tells the Dickinson Press ( http://bit.ly/u47xRm ) that the city has saved about $50,000 by not having to run the plows.
Krank says 4 inches of snow needs to be on the ground before the plows hit the streets. He says the last time city plows were out in force was on Dec. 1 and that was to train four drivers.
