DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — A funeral has been scheduled for the man accused of shooting and wounding two men at the Cook County Courthouse in northeastern Minnesota earlier this month.
The Duluth News Tribune (http://bit.ly/uFu53c) reports services for 42-year-old Daniel Schlienz will be held Jan. 7 at the Cornerstone Church in Grand Marais.
Schlienz died Tuesday at a Duluth hospital after being taken there from the St. Louis County Jail for what the sheriff's office said was treatment for "flu-like symptoms."
Schlienz was being held at the jail on two counts of attempted first-degree premeditated murder for the Dec. 15 shootings of Cook County Attorney Tim Scannell and 53-year-old Gregory Thompson of Grand Marais.
Both Scannell and Thompson left the hospital within a few days.
