Barnesville man arrested after fleeing from Moorhead Police

Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A Barnesville man is behind bars after fleeing from an officer during a traffic stop. Moorhead Police found 22-year-old Theodore Friederichs swerving over the center lane on Main Avenue, around 3 yesterday morning.

Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A Barnesville man is behind bars after fleeing from an officer during a traffic stop. Moorhead Police found 22-year-old Theodore Friederichs swerving over the center lane on Main Avenue, around 3 yesterday morning.

Police pulled Friederichs over, but he sped away when an officer walked up to his car. A few minutes later, his car was found smashed into a tree on the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue South.

He fled on foot, but was arrested minutes later. Friederich's is charged with D-W-I, and fleeing from police.

SGT. TOBY KRONE - Moorhead Police: “Not only are you putting an officer's life at risk, but most importantly you are driving at speeds, not obeying stop signs. Three oclock in the morning, there can be people out."

Friederichs is being held in the Clay County Jail without bail.
