UNDERWOOD, Minn. (AP) — Otter Tail County authorities say a Monticello man was able to save himself after his four-wheeler plunged into icy water at Norway Lake.
Forty-five-year-old Michael Traen tells authorities he was riding from his fish house back to shore Sunday about 7 a.m. He says it was still dark so he wasn't able to see a patch of open water ahead.
A Fergus Falls Journal report (http://bit.ly/u0Kxx8 ) says Traen managed to pull himself from the water onto the ice. He was still several hundred yards from shore but he was able to make it back without injury.
