Bismarck, ND (WDAY TV) -- They are likely just getting home after being out everywhere---last minute shoppers. Some stores stayed open extra hours with extra deals to make sure those procrastinators get everything they need the night before Christmas.

Shoppers in Bismarck were up early, hoping to cross those final items off their lists. The week before Christmas accounts for up to 20 percent of holiday sales. Stores expect to ring up nearly 470 billion dollars this season.

Seven Jacobchick, shopper, says, “Chrsitmas Eve I'm always getting the last stuff before we head off to spend time with family. Do you think that’s normal for everyone here today? I would bet."

Returns are already up, thanks to record shopping on Black Friday.
