FARGO, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota State officials said Thursday that Bison golfer Amy Anderson has been selected to play for Team USA in the 2012 Curtis Cup.

The event is held every two years and features players from the U.S. against a team made up of players from Great Britain and Ireland.

The next tournament is scheduled June 8-10 at The Nairn Golf Club in Scotland.

Anderson is one of five players who have been announced to the U.S. squad. Three more players will be added later.

Anderson, of Oxbow, is a junior at NDSU. She drew national attention earlier this year at the U.S. Women's Open when she spent time atop the leaderboard during the first round.

NDSU officials have scheduled a press conference with Anderson Thursday afternoon.
