On the opposite sideline, it's been quite the ride for Craig Bohl - two years removed from a 3-8 season to now playing for the national championship. Before Bohl left for Frisco I asked him if he thought this team had the potential to break through.

Craig Bohl – NDSU Head Football Coach: “Going into this year, if some things fell right, we had the ingredients to get to this game, it's one thing to talk about it, another thing to do it. We had enough ingredients to get where we needed to go, expectations are there, it's extremely hard to get here and it's even harder to win.”

Dom: “Three weeks off, equate to your bowl game, too long to sit around and think or just the right amount?”

Craig Bohl: “It can be just the right amount, we need to do enough competitive work. You're not going to win, the game by going out and beating the Bison offense with the Bison defense in a major scrimmage. That has nothing to do with the cost of butter and winning in Frisco. We're going to give our players some off time, but they've worked too hard for too long. Coaches have worked hard, to put a really good plan in and play really well down in Frisco.”

Dom: “With your experience and dealing with people like me, it's going to be worse for the players, you give them any advice?”

Craig Bohl: “There's going to be a ton of distractions, major elements done in the FargoDome, and by the time we get down there and there’s every social activity you can imagine.”

Dom: “Do you expect the phone to be ringing from other schools saying, ‘Hey we saw what you did?’”

Craig Bohl: “Our focus is on the game and I've made a long standing position I don't comment on any future job opportunities.”

Bohl told me that the players would get the Christmas holiday off then return to Fargo, on the ticket front, the NCAA will make standing room only available at 10 AM on January 3rd on NCAA.com.
