JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a man wanted in Oregon was arrested in North Dakota early Wednesday after an 80-mile chase and 35-minute standoff that ended peacefully.

The Highway Patrol says 39-year-old Jonathan Oliver is wanted in Oregon for violating probation and failing to appear on fraud charges.

The Forum newspaper says (http://bit.ly/uXW8CQ) a Stutsman County deputy stopped Oliver's vehicle on Interstate 94 near Jamestown about 11 p.m. Tuesday. Oliver talked briefly with the deputy before leading authorities on a pursuit at or below the speed limit.

Oliver eventually left the interstate and was forced to stop after his tires were spiked and deflated. He surrendered about 1 a.m. after holding authorities at bay for 35 minutes.

The patrol says a Glock handgun was recovered from the vehicle. There were no injuries.
