1 man killed, passenger injured in ATV crash

DEERWOOD TOWNSHIP, Minn. (AP) — A Brainerd man was killed and a passenger on his all-terrain vehicle was injured when the ATV rolled over in Crow Wing County.

Authorities received a 911 call from a remote area of Deerwood Township Monday afternoon from others riding in the ATV group. They couldn't tell authorities exactly where they were so a helicopter was sent up to locate the accident scene and direct rescuers on the ground.

KARE-TV (http://kare11.tv/shQbh4 ) says when first responders reached the victims, a 47-year-old man had died and a 21-year-old male passenger was badly injured. The condition of the injured man isn't known.
