Alfonso Rodriguez Appeals Sentence

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- A hearing is set in Fargo in the appeal of the Crookston man sentenced to death for killing UND student, Dru Sjodin.

Alfonso Rodriguez Junior was convicted in 2006 of kidnapping, raping, and murdering Sjodin.

Defense attorneys in October filed a motion, the last step in the appeals process. The 298-page document claims Rodriguez was mentally disabled and his trial team, ineffective.
