The Flood Diversion Board of Authority is reaching out to the public through the web. The board launched its new website Thursday. Members hope it'll help citizens understand a complicated project that will cost up to $1.8 billion.
The website offers everything you need to know about the project, including history, upcoming events and mitigation between land owners and local government. There are also links to Red River and flood data, along with a place to voice your opinions.
Daron Selvig – Diversion Board Spokesman: “Because it is so technical and so large in nature we've discovered that it's necessary to have one place where people can go to learn not only the technical information about the project but how it affects them and what's next as far as key events.”
Selvig began working on the website three months ago.
