Perham Health will soon be opening the doors of a new, $38 million facility. Officials spent five years planning the design and touring the midwest to find out what works.
The new, 127.000 square foot facility will open in early January. This facility focuses on families, making sure they have a part in patient's care."
Chuck Hofius – CEO Perham Health: "If you ever go to a normal hospital you feel like as a member you don't have a place to belong, and at this place there are plenty of places to belong."
Perham Health has wide-open patient rooms with space for loved ones, and an easy layout so people feel peaceful.
Chuck Holfius: "So every stone wall you see is an entrance to one of those outpatient departments to make way finding really easy."
The clinic alone sees around 2,000 patients a week, so officials say more room is necessary.
Chuck Hofius: "The biggest thing was space we converted nearly every bathroom every storeroom into patient care use."
It will take a few days to switch patients over and get them settled, but officials say they're ready for a January 9th opening. Crews have been building the hospital for two years.
