Fargo-Moorhead Churches are doing everything they can to help the area's homeless problem. Churches United and The New Life Center are at or near capacity almost every night. Now, churches likes Elim Lutheran in Fargo are willing to volunteer there space. Eight host churches are in talks to support 5 to 25 homeless people a night starting January 1st until the end of March. Each church would serve one week, offering shelter from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Sue Koesterman – Pastor, Elim Lutheran Church: “The homeless shelters would act as screening agencies for the host sites, so under no circumstances would an individual be able to come to a host site and be admitted directly there.”

Churches still need several volunteers. If you're can help call FirstLink at 701-235-7335.
