Some area businesses still waiting on snow

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The snow-blowers stand idle. Front lawns feature snow-men and angels, but the snow is a no-show. No one can argue with our weekend warm-spell, unless of course, the winter white powder means dollar signs for you.

The snow-blowers stand idle. Front lawns feature snow-men and angels, but the snow is a no-show. No one can argue with our weekend warm-spell, unless of course, the winter white powder means dollar signs for you.

It’s pretty hard to get excited about one of our winter pastimes, when you can still rake the yard. At Wheels Incorporated in south Fargo, there is relief that so many sleds sold during the late summer and fall. Lately, with no snow, more people are coming in to buy winter wear than sleds.

Wayne Hartmann – Wheels Inc.: “I am ready for snow, it would be good.”

And it is not just those who enjoy sledding but those who make a living pushing snow all winter, right now they may be singing the Christmas Blues.

At Northern Turf Management, the pickups and plows are quiet, because of the warm weather, work on lawn irrigation just wrapped up. These days, it's all about waiting.

Eric Breitling – Northern Turf Management: “We need the work and it would be nice to get out and do it, but it is nice not to be out in the snow.”

On the other hand, some, like those in the roofing and shingling business, had another day to get work done.
