Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The chilly temperatures didn't stop Bison fans from heading out early to start pre-game rituals. Grills heated up and so did tailgaters under tents with heaters.
It is around 10 A-M and these tailgaters are wide awake fixing their favorite game day foods.
Craig Mitchell, a member of the group tailgaters says he'd still be out here getting ready for the big game even if there were several feet of snow on the ground.
Craig Mitchell, Bison Fan: “Yea we are die hard's, we are out here for every game, this is I think the latest in the season as we have gone, so it is kind of challenging, but I think if you've got the right gear, right attitude, it's a good time”.
Mitchell is happy playoff games are at home and it definitely makes for an easier tailgating party.
Craig: “It is a lot easier because last year we didn't know from week to week if we were going to move on, and there were charter flights and everything so this is a lot easier to wake up in your own bed and have all of your stuff ready to go, so well take this any day of the week. “
While some may think this is too early and too cold to be out, Mitchell thinks there is no better way to get ready for the game.
Craig: “We go through some goofy weather anyway, so id be surprised if we weren't here, I guess id put it that way.”
The newest addition to this group is this trailer, they bought it for this year’s season and on the back of it, it has every single person in the group name.
One of those names is Pat Odegaard. He agrees with Mitchell regardless of the temps or time nothing can stop him from continuing his pre-game tradition.
Pat Odegard, Bison Fan: “You know its more fun than being in somebody's basement, or out at a local establishment that has it on TV, it is just a lot more fun to be here.”
Mitchell, Odegaard, and the rest of the group all agree they wouldn't want to be any other place on this chilly early morning than right here in the tailgate lot.
We have tents and heaters so if it is cold it's no problem.
The group plans to tailgate as long as the Bison keep winning.
