(WDAY TV) - Perhaps you've seen the T-V show Mythbusters on cable. Well, one of their experiments in California went all wrong and the sheriff's department is now investigating.

During a taping for the show, a witness says the crew was measuring the speed of projectiles fired from a cannon. They started out with a cannonball, but it missed a target of barrels of water meant to absorb the impact.

Instead, it went through a concrete wall, bounced off a hillside, bounced of a sidewalk and went straight through the front door of a home. But it didn't stop there, the cannonball shot through a bedroom and out a wall of the home.

It then bounced across the road and bounced off a neighbor's roof before smashing through a minivan in the neighborhood. The owner of the minivan says the cannonball was about 5 inches and probably weighed about 10 pounds.
