Realtors have gotten in on a new kind of Battle of the Badges, and this time the goal is a Red Kettle Competition. Fire fighters, police and sheriff's deputies will face off against realtors to see who can raise the most money ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. They made the announcement at a press conference today. Each group is being given 10 hours to ring the bells at 30 different sites. Law enforcement says this is a great way to give back to an organization that helps the community all year round.
Chief David Ebinger – Moorhead Police Department: “You don't need a flood to find out how valuable the Salvation Army is to us. They are out there every day addressing people's needs - people who are often least empowered to help themselves.”
All donations go to the Salvation Army to help reach the Red Kettle goal this year of $810,000.
