Bison football coach touts college playoff system

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota State's Craig Bohl has participated in some big-time bowl games as a player and coach, but the Bison head football coach says nothing compares to a playoff run.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota State's Craig Bohl has participated in some big-time bowl games as a player and coach, but the Bison head football coach says nothing compares to a playoff run.

The Bison are scheduled to play visiting Lehigh Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Football Championship Subdivision, or the second tier of NCAA Division I football.

Bohl, a former player and coach at Nebraska, has participated in the Rose Bowl and other bowls that are considered rewards in the upper-level Football Bowl Subdivision. Bohl says he remembers worrying about margin of victory or style points in games leading up to the bowl selection.

The Bison coach says the FCS has a great format that helps determine the best team.
