WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — A new motel has opened in Williston, a city where it's typically hard to find a room because of North Dakota's oil boom.
The Williston Herald reports (http://bit.ly/rBer7R) that the Motel 6 off U.S. Highway 2 had a grand opening ribbon-cutting on Friday.
Ray Obendorf, a partner in the venture with his son Greg Obendorf, said the family farms in Idaho and is also in oil leases.
He said construction started about six months ago and Halliburton has wanted to rent out the entire motel. The family says it will probably rent some of it locally and some of it to the company.
Six of the rooms offered are extended-stay rooms with more amenities. The rest are single rooms for $99 per night, or double rooms for $115 per night.
